The Victorian Government is delivering 40 new and upgraded car parking spaces at Drouin Station.
The new car park will feature improved CCTV and lighting as well as more bicycle parking facilities.
The works will be delivered by the Level Crossing Removal Project, and funded by the Victorian Government.
To support the delivery of new and upgraded car parks at this site and the planning approvals process, we undertook a process of community consultation to ensure that the views of local residents and station users were considered.
Planning Approvals Consultation Summary
We invited local residents and interested stakeholders to provide feedback on the designs as well as key local values we should consider through detailed design. The public consultation period was open from 9 August until 24 August 2021, with feedback captured through the Victorian Government’s online engagement platform Engage Victoria, as well as mail and email.
What we heard
Improving traffic flow and access
You told us that improving traffic flow and access in the area, car park entrances and local road access is important.
There was interest in the ‘look and feel’ of the car park including the layout, pavement and signs installed.
Safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians within the area was also raised as an important aspect to consider within the design.
Feedback has been included in a public consultation summary report which informs the Minister for Planning’s assessment of the projects under Clause 52.03. Feedback has also been provided to the design and project teams for consideration as the final designs are confirmed.
Once the design for each car park has been finalised, we’ll share it publicly.
