Engagement

To support the delivery of new and upgraded car parks at this site and the planning approvals process, we undertook a process of community consultation to ensure that the views of local residents and station users were considered.

Planning Approvals Consultation Summary

We invited local residents and interested stakeholders to provide feedback on the designs as well as key local values we should consider through detailed design. The public consultation period was open from 9 August until 6 September 2021, with feedback captured through the Victorian Government’s online engagement platform Engage Victoria, as well as mail and email.

What we heard
Flora and Fauna

You told us about the connection to local flora and fauna and inquired as to how trees and local habitats for fauna would be managed.

Design

Submissions also covered urban design matters relating to landscaping, drainage, and urban heat island effect.

Accessibility

You also told us you value accessibility for commuters, pedestrians, and cyclists to the station and along the Upfield Shared User Path.

Next Steps

Feedback was included in a public consultation summary report which informed the Minister for Planning’s assessment of the projects under Clause 52.03. Feedback was also provided to the design and project teams for consideration for the final design.
