The Victorian Government has delivered 500 new and upgraded car parking spaces at Tarneit Station. The new car park features improved CCTV and lighting.
Works have begun to build a new bus interchange that will double the amount of bus bays and additional bicycle facilities.
Construction will be complete in late 2023.
May 2022 – Tarneit Station car park major works
To support the delivery of new and upgraded car parks at this site and the planning approvals process, we undertook a process of community consultation to ensure that the views of local residents and station users were considered.
Planning Approvals Consultation Summary
We invited local residents and interested stakeholders to provide feedback on the designs as well as key local values we should consider when completing detailed design. The public consultation period was open from 30 August to 20 September, with feedback captured through the Victorian Government’s online engagement platform Engage Victoria, as well as mail and email.
What we heard
You told us that you valued personal safety when accessing the new car park.
Submissions also covered commuter accessibility and reducing congestion.
You also told us about the need for an integrated design which services a growing population.
Feedback has been included in a public consultation summary report which informs the Minister for Planning’s assessment of the projects under Clause 52.03. Feedback has also been provided to the design and project teams for consideration as the final designs are confirmed.
Once the design for each car park has been finalised, we’ll share it publicly.
